Brian Jon Rafteseth

Brian Jon Rafteseth, 55, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, in Fargo, ND. Brian was born on February 14, 1967, to Duane and Maxine (Yeager) Rafteseth in Litchfield, MN.

Brian attended Hawley High School where he played basketball and as an All-State Football Player, graduating in 1985. He attended Moorhead State University, playing football for one year. He then transferred to Thief River Falls Vo Tech, studying in the Airplane Mechanical Program. After his graduation, he began his career with American Airlines where he would work for the next 30 years. With American Airlines, he worked in numerous airports across the country, including Dallas, TX, Tulsa, OK, New York, NY, Minneapolis, MN, and Chicago, IL. He retired in January/February of 2022 and moved to Lake Park, MN.

Brian enjoyed farming and fixing farm machinery. He loved to hang out with his friends and was an avid sports fan, following the Vikings, Twins, Wild, and the Bison and also had an interest in NASCAR. He had a great work ethic being completely dedicated to his craft and very focused on present tasks. He was honest to a fault, reliable, always dependable, and fun to be around.

Brian is survived by his father, Duane Rafteseth; brother, Bruce (Brenda) Rafteseth; niece, Keely Rafteseth; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. A livestream of the service will be available at www.wrightfuneral.com where a guestbook and video tribute may also be found. Final resting place will be at Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN, following the service on Saturday.
