Brian L. Schultz

Brian Lynn Schultz, 56, of Moorhead passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 9^th, 2022 at home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Brian was born on September 9^th, 1966 to Lyle and Beverly (Nodsle) Schultz. He grew up on the family farm near Hitterdal and graduated from Ulen-Hitterdal high school in 1985. He enjoyed all sports and was active in baseball, football, and basketball.

After high school, Brian moved to Moorhead to attend Minnesota State University Moorhead and began working as a welder doing sheet metal fabrication. He worked hard for over 35 years in the manufacturing industries holding a variety of different roles over the years, most recently doing inside sales for S-M Enterprises, where he built many strong, lasting friendships.

Brian enjoyed spending time with friends and family, was a competitive bowler, and an avid Minnesota sports fan. Most of all, he loved being a father to his two children, Mac and Makayla, and was a wonderful dad. He enjoyed attending all of his kids’ activities while they were growing up and valued the time he spent with them as adults. He recently welcomed his first granddaughter, whom he adored. Brian will always be remembered for the kind person he was and how he treated others.

Brian is survived by his son Mac (Brittany) of Moorhead, his daughter Makayla of Roseville and her boyfriend Josh, and his granddaughter Nora; mother Beverly; siblings Rick (Deb), Becky (Mike) Sipe, Gary (Laurel), Steve and his girlfriend Dawn, and Jann Mathias. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his Godmother Lorraine Nelson.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Lyle and sister-in-law Ann Schultz.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a a donation to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Visitation will continue Thursday, November 17, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Moorhead.

Interment will be at Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
