Brian W. Rosenfeldt

Brian Rosenfeldt, 50, of Dilworth, MN passed away on July 15th at home with his family by his side. Brian was born on June 17, 1974, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Felton, MN and attended Felton Elementary, Glyndon Elementary and graduated from Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School in 1993. He graduated from NDSU with an Agricultural Business Degree in 1997.

On December 9, 2000, he was united in marriage to Julie Rath. They made their home in Dilworth, MN for the last 14 years where they've raised their children. In 2006 their first child Alli was born and in 2012 their son Jaden was born. Brian was so proud of his family, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his wife and children. He always said, “I love you and I am proud of you” to Alli and Jaden. He also had the most precious smirk on his face when his kids were present. Brian was the “rock” of the family, and everyone looked to him for advice. He was giving us knuckles up until his last days.

Brian had a great passion for farming and spent countless hours doing what he loved. He farmed sugar beets, wheat and soybeans. Brian took great pride in farming with his Uncle Dan for many years and the two formed a special relationship. He also thoroughly enjoyed helping Brandt get started with his farming career. Brian served on the Red River Sugarbeet Growers Association and American Crystal Sugar Company Truck Haul Committee.

Brian was a very loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an incredibly kind, caring, and giving person and will be dearly missed by so many. Even during his final days, he always had a smile on his face. Brian enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, snowmobiling, hunting, attending his kid’s sporting events, and spending time at the lake. He would get so much joy out of pulling the kids behind the boat.

Brian is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Alli (17) and son Jaden (12) of Dilworth, MN; mother Linda Rosenfeldt, Fargo, ND; father Bill Rosenfeldt, Bloomfield, OH; sister Mary Russ (Mike), Dent MN; sister Tanya Kowalski (Joel), Port Orange, FL; mother-in-law Janet Rath, Pelican Rapids, MN; brother-in-law Gary Rath (Shanon), Peoria, AZ, Jill Weiss (Brad), Hawley, MN and nieces and nephews: Lexy and Levi Backer, Mia, Abbi and Torii Kowalski, Lance and MaKayla Weiss, Brady (Ginny), Branum, Shauna and Braden Rath.

He was preceded in death by grandparents; Abner and Berdelle Kragnes and Harry and Myrtle Rosenfeldt; and father-in-law Bob Rath.

The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Dr. Almquist, and his nurse Emily, at Sanford Roger Maris Center and Mayo Clinic for their care of Brian. We also would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley for their amazing support during this difficult time. Their compassion and care during our time of need was comforting and gave us peace during Brian's final days.
