Bruce E. Ellingson

Bruce E. Ellingson, 79, of Glyndon, MN passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home.

More than anyone, Bruce loved life! He took advantage of every opportunity to be with family, to visit friends and travel. Everyone was familiar with his smiles and his easy-going manner. He especially loved being around his grandchildren and nieces and nephews, but he could pretty much engage anyone in
conversation. Old tractors and classic cars were among his favorite subjects.

Bruce was born in Fargo, ND to Kenneth and Clarice (Westrick) Ellingson on Oct 26, 1943. He grew up on the family farm north of Fargo and graduated from Moorhead High school. In July of 1965, he married Esther Heldt and together they raised three sons, Curtis, Darin and Kevin and he had a special relationship with Curt’s friend, Corey Burnside. He was very close to each and every one of his 14 sisters- and brothers-in-law as well as 24 nieces and nephews.

Bruce was a glass installer until he retired in 2006 and he loved being part of the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by their eldest son, Curt and his brother Lyle. He is survived by his wife, Esther, Darin of Otsego and Kevin of Dilworth, MN and three wonderful grandchildren, Meghan, Emma and Jack as well as his brother, Arnold.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 5-7 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A funeral with Livestream will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon, MN.

Final resting place will be in Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN in the spring.
