Bruce K. Lien

Bruce K. Lien, 83, of Moorhead, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 26, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Bruce was born September 18, 1939, in Bottineau, ND, to Leonard and Edith (Amsbaugh) Lien. He grew up and attended school in Bottineau, ND, until the family moved to Fargo, ND, where he graduated from Fargo High School. On July 5, 1962, Bruce married Karen Hanson in Fargo. Together they made their home in Moorhead and started a family. Bruce began working for NSP and spent 25 years with the company. After that, Bruce worked at Muscatell in Moorhead where he made many friends up until his retirement in 2005. Most important to Bruce was his time spent with family, friends and his dogs. He enjoyed the outdoors, taking care of the pool and gardening with Karen.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Barbara (Daryl) Howard, Joel Lien, Bill Lien; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Kent (Nancy) Lien, Kevin Lien; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughter, Brianna Howard; and sister, Cheryl (Ron) Bergland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cats Cradle Shelter or 4 Luv of Dogs Rescue.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m., at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN
