Cameron Schroeder

Cameron Schroeder, 84, of Hitterdal, MN, died Monday, October 12, 2020, at home under the care of family and Ethos Hospice.

Cameron Willis Schroeder was born to Rip and Maude Schroeder in Heimdal, ND on July 2, 1936.

He graduated from Obron High School. After graduation he then registered with the National Guard for a couple of years.

On July 10, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Nordstrom. They lived in Fargo where they had two children, Gregory and Debbie.

On May 1, 1964 he began working at the Fargo Fire Department as a fireman up to retirement August 1, 1991. After retirement JoAnn and Cameron enjoyed traveling to Texas as winter Texans, eventually purchasing a permanent home in San Juan, Texas where they lived for 5 years. They returned to the cold Minnesota winters in Hitterdal in 2014.

Cameron enjoyed his grandchildren, Michael (Meresa) Schroeder and Matthew Schroeder, all of Moorhead, Jake (Kristin) Berg, of Fargo and Jessica Berg, of Moorhead. He had two great- grandchildren,  Lily and Amelia Berg.

Cameron is preceded in death by his parents, Rip and Maude; brother, Warren and sister-in- law, Colleen, from Montana and son, John, who died at birth.

A graveside memorial will be held on a later date due to COVID 19.
