Carmen Maring, 62, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, in her home in Fargo.
Carmen Maring was born June 24, 1951 to Irene and Merle Maring in Fargo, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Georgetown, MN and attended elementary school in Georgetown. She attended Junior High School in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1968. She attended Moorhead State University where she earned a degree in Mass Communication.
Carmen was an accomplished pianist and won many contests and awards for her performances. She played trombone and flute in the Moorhead High School band. She also played the organ for Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church in Georgetown.
She worked at the Rourke Art Gallery for several years before taking a position at KQWB in Moorhead as a sales representative. She also was a sales representative for KSJB in Jamestown, ND. She had other sales positions as well as a demonstrator for food companies.
She worked as a volunteer at Dakota Hospital and was active in the Democratic Party.
Carmen married Mark Tegmeier in 1990.
Carmen died after a long and courageous battle with the disease pulmonary fibrosis. She was diagnosed with this illness in 2007.
Carmen is survived by her mother Irene Maring of Moorhead, brother Mark Sandy Maring of Hendrum and nephew Luke Maring of Hendrum.
