Carol A. Teigen

Carol Ann Teigen, 62, of Moorhead, died Friday, September 23, 2005, in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Carol Ann Teigen was born on August 30, 1943, to Lester and Elvira Hallin Taggart in Thief River Falls, MN. She grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1961. She attended Thief River Falls School of Practical Nursing. After earning her LPN degree, Carol worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. On January 18, 1964, she married Peter Teigen in Thief River Falls, MN. They had one daughter, Lynn. In February of 1965, they moved and made their home in Hawley, MN. Carol worked as a home care nurse, and at the Hawley Post Office, before starting her life-time career as the Office Manager at the Hawley Co-op Elevator. Carol graciously put in 31 years of service from April 1970, until her retirement on July 18, 2002. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in May of 2005.Carol devoted her life to her family. She will be remembered for being a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and could frequently be found playing games, laughing, and cheering them on in all of their activities.She is survived by her husband, Peter Teigen, Moorhead, MN; one daughter, Lynn Riley Tweet, Moorhead, MN; two very special grandchildren, Tyler and Tanner Tweet, Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Duane Sharon Taggart, Greenbush, MN, and Jim Marlene Taggart, Newfolden, MN; five sisters, Ivy Robert Myhrer, Lakeland, FL, Dorothy Donald Johnson, Coon Rapids, MN, Lois Adrian Larson, Roseau, MN, Marilyn Jim Erickson, Alexandria, MN, and Fae Gene Becklund, Redwood Falls, MN; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, LaVonne Gray.
