Carol Jeanne Grinaker died on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Carol Jeanne Fark was born to Theodore and Pearl Fark on November 26, 1929, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The family moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota when Carol was a young girl. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School and Concordia College in Moorhead. She married Vernon Finn Grinaker on May 26, 1951.
Carol taught for many years at Moorhead Technical College. She and Finn were charter members of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead where they faithfully served for many years. They were both dedicated to the mission and ministry of Concordia College throughout their lives. Carol continued to be a loyal supporter of Cobber athletics as well as the many cultural opportunities Concordia offered. For the last several years she volunteered in the Critical Care Unit at Sanford Health comforting and providing support to families in their time of need.
Carol touched countless lives with her compassion, caring and generosity. She lived every day of her life with grace, dignity and beauty.
Carol is survived by her three daughters, Kristen Warren Whitworth, Kathryn Oppegard and Mary Grinaker Laura and daughter-in-law Kathleen Grinaker. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Ann Fark; and sister, Harriet Bruce Barrett. She was preceded in death by her husband Finn; and her son, David.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24 at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday September 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Moorhead.
