Carole Mayville

Carole Adeline (Haglund) Mayville died at home on March 6, 2021 with her son Nicholas by her side and under the care of Ethos Hospice.

Carole was born March 21, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN to Adeline (Johnsen) Haglund and Donald Haglund.  She grew up in Minneapolis and attended school there.

On October 22, 1966 in Watertown, SD Carole married William (Bill) Mayville.   They lived in Minnesota until 1986 when they moved to Fargo, ND.  Carole had many different jobs in her working life.  Her last job was working in retail for several years at Grahams Hallmark in Fargo until she retired.  Carole and Bill traveled to various countries in their early retirement years.  She loved to go to the lake, stay in their RV and go fishing.  She could out fish most of us.  Carole enjoyed many different types of sewing, embroidery, quilting and she had a true passion for reading.  You could always find her with a good book or recently she read on her Kindle. Carole’s life centered around her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years William (Bill), four children Catrina (Brian) Gullickson Moorhead, MN, Cynthia Stangel Duluth, MN, Casandra Mayville Fargo, ND and her son Nicholas Mayville Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother Bart (Darlene) Haglund Breezy Point, MN.  She is also survived by a niece and 2 nephews.

Carole is preceded in death by her son William Lawrence Jr; granddaughter Meghan Lewis; her parents Adeline and Donald, her sister Terry Sabean, and her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. The service will be livestreamed beginning at 2:00 P.M. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
