Carole R. Born

Carole Rae Born, 71, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, at home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Carole was born on August 13, 1943, to Raymond and Myrtle Hendrickson Knoff. She grew up and attended school in Drayton, later continuing her education at Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. Carole married Doug Born on October 3, 1982, and together they moved to Iowa in 1992. Carole was a talented seamstress and was able to use her skills while working in Iowa. She later retired and in 2008 moved back to Moorhead to be closer to family. Carole enjoyed being outdoors and near the water. They enjoyed traveling and spending time at the ocean, but most of all loved her time with family. Carole will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Doug; children, Michael Judy Stellon of Drayton, ND, Brenda Landowski of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Brooks Stellon, Clayton Landowski, Joseph Landowski, Sarah Landowski, Emily Landowski, Jeffrey Landowski, Marcus Landowski, Daniel Mapel, Ross Mapel, Shana Daby; great-grandchildren, Domenic Stellon, Ella Landowski, Landon Mapel, Wilson Daby; sister, Judy Carl Pokrzywinski of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Robert Kathy Knoff of Drayton, ND, Raymond Carol Knoff of Vinton, IA; sister-in-law, Florence Knoff of Waconia, MN; special friend, Cathy Vollmers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Roger Knoff.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m., with gathering one hour prior to the service in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
