Carrie A. Jones

Carrie A. Jones, aka “Monte’s Mom”, 99, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2013 in Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND.

Carrie Ann Frogner was born on November 24, 1913, in Melville, ND to Edward and Emma Peterson Frogner. She grew up and attended school near Carrington, ND. Carrie married Lawrence Jones, and they made their homes in the Fargo-Moorhead area. They had many businesses together including the Proctor Hotel in Detroit Lakes and various bars. They also farmed North of Moorhead. Lawrence died in 1973 and Carrie continued to enjoy being a business owner, opening the Northside Retirement Home in Moorhead.

Carrie was a wife, mother, best friend, business woman, caregiver and adventurist. She always thought of others before herself and touched the lives of everyone she met. She loved to be on the go, enjoying many activities including the Soroptimist Club, Red Hat Society, being a delegate to the New Life Center, and traveling to New York many times. She also enjoyed visiting with others, especially with her Card Club with the residents at 29th Ave North in Fargo.

Carrie will be missed dearly by her son, Monte and his partner, Jerry of Moorhead, MN; two special nieces, Jean Andy Andersen and Sandy Versteeg; special nephew, Don Tina Frogner; special friends Jack and JoAnne Erbstoesser and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Ellen, Ella, Monte, Louis, Al and Sam.

Visitation: Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo, ND.
