Carroll L. Rogness

Carroll Rogness, 95, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Eventide Senior Living under the gentle care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Carroll was born May 21, 1918 in Hendrum, MN, to Jensine and Ole Rogness. He graduated from Hendrum High School. He began farming with his father at an early age, and upon his father’s incapacitation, provided for his parents and four sisters. He continued working as a farmer until his retirement in the mid-1970s.

In 1952 he married Evelyn Toso. They lived in Hendrum during the farming season, and spent many years working in southern California during the long winters. In 1968 they moved to Moorhead, MN.

Carroll loved to travel, but his first passion was always the outdoors – fishing, hunting, and camping.

Carroll is survived by his son Peter, New York, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sisters.
