Carroll “Stub” W. Stubstad

Carroll “Stub” W. Stubstad, 81, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Carroll “Stub” Wayne Stubstad was born on July 12, 1934, in Barnesville, MN, to Adolph and Ethel Hough Stubstad. He grew up in Barnesville, where he graduated from Barnesville High School. After graduating, Stub helped his father work on the farm and other various jobs. On December 29, 1956, he married Lila Butenhoff in Sabin, MN. Shortly after their marriage, Stub served in the United States Army in North Carolina. They moved to Ft. Bragg for his two year service. They then returned to Fargo, where Stub worked at Fargo Glass and Paint until his retirement in 1997. Stub and Lila enjoyed their winters in Mesa, AZ, and summers on Lake Lizzie. Stub enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lila; two sons, Marc Jessie Terlecky and Matt Stubstad; two grandsons, Caleb and Luke; and Marcia Lindholm Stubstad, all of Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Ethel Stubstad; infant son, Ross; brothers, Arvid and Donald Stubstad; and sister, Ona Jean Gregor.

Stub’s family would like to thank all of Stub’s Kiddos at Rosewood on Broadway and the staff at Hospice of the Red River Valley for their exceptional care.

Funeral: Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
