Charles A. ’Chuck’ Anderson

Charles A. "Chuck" Anderson, 80, Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.Charles was born on October 5, 1931, in Austin, MN, to Casper and Myrtle Johnson Anderson. He grew up in Bowden, ND, and graduated from Moorhead High School. He went to work for American Crystal Sugar, served as foreman and later joined management as assistant superintendent. He also continued farming on the family farm north of Dilworth, MN. Chuck married Darlene Jacobsen on June 26, 1952 in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead. They made their home on the farm. He had been active with the union throughout his career and his heart was with his union colleagues' right up until his death. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and lutefisk eater. Darlene died on June 7, 2001.Chuck is survived by his sons, Craig Linda Anderson, Moorhead, MN, Roby Anderson, Glyndon, MN, Kyle Joni Anderson, Moorhead, MN; daughters, Kristi Lee, Minneapolis, MN, Shelly Oscar Eugenio, Beaverton, OR; brothers, Dennis Norma Anderson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Steve Anderson, Fosston, MN; sisters, Gloy Jacobsen, Milwaukee, WI, Cleo Bonn, Omaha, NE, Karen Louis Krenz, Springfield, IL, Colleen Greg Sedivy, Prior Lake, MN; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, and a grandson Sean. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Lost and Found Ministry.
