Charles “Charlie” K. Christensen

Charles “Charlie” K. Christensen, 65, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, in his home in Moorhead, MN.

Charlie also known as Butch by some of his uncles was born on January 19, 1950 in Hallock, MN to Roy and Verna Vilen Christensen. He grew up in Lancaster, MN, where he graduated from high school. Charlie then served in the United States Navy. On July 24, 1976, he married Mary Ann Anderson in Hawley, MN. They made their home in Moorhead, MN. Charlie worked as a journeyman electrician on commercial building sites locally, as well as in the Minneapolis area, Nevada and Washington. He was a member of the IBEW/NECA Union.

Charlie enjoyed hunting and watching sports. He also loved traveling with his friends to Jamaica for their annual vacation. Most of all, Charlie enjoyed spending time with his beloved dogs, Indy and Rily.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, Moorhead, MN; mother, Verna Christensen-Beneke, Hallock, MN; sisters, Judy Jack Reese, Grand Forks, ND and Faith Brad Masloski, Cottage Grove, MN; brothers, David Suzette Christensen, Coon Rapids, MN and Lee Christensen, Lancaster, MN; brother-in-law, Don Hope Anderson, Moorhead, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Christensen; step-father, John Beneke; and a niece
and nephew.
