Charles D. Palm

Charles D. Palm, age 64, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Charles David Palm was born on December 15, 1956 in Detroit Lakes, MN to David and Evelyn (Matejka) Palm. He attended and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1975 and furthered his education at the Detroit Lakes Vocational Technical Institute in sign lettering. Charles then drove for Tomlinson Lumber in Callaway, MN for a short time. He then attended Staples Vocational Technical Institute in 1980 studying photography where he also met the love of his life, Elizabeth Names. Following graduation, he moved to Cambridge, MN where he worked in a photoshop, then back Detroit Lakes, and finally to Moorhead where Charles and Liz made their home. They were married on June 28, 1986. After moving to Moorhead, Charles worked for RR Commodities for a short time before finding his career of 35 years at Sheyenne Dakota Incorporated (formerly known as Premier Technology).

Charles was an incredibly talented photographer and artist. His favorite past time was capturing the perfect picture at all moments of life, leaving his family with many albums of photos to cherish. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, camping, and appreciating nature. Charles also loved spending time with friends and family, painting, and traveling. He will be greatly missed by all his loved ones.

Charles is survived by his wife of 35 years, Liz; daughter, Samantha (Michael) Broders of Eagan, MN; father, David Palm of Rochert, MN; siblings, Bruce (Judy) Palm of Rochert, LeAnn (Darrell) Utke of West Fargo, ND, Susie Roesler of Lake Park, MN, and Mark (Carolynn) Palm of Lake Park; sister-in-law, Holly Palm of Roseau, MN; mother-in-law, Judy Names of Wadena, MN; Sisters-in-law, Nancy (Ron Bradehoft) Vanderbeek of Wadena, Annette (Rich) Zabel of Pierre, SD, and Melody Names of Wadena; brothers in law, Arthur (Missy) Names of Dilworth, MN and Loren (Shelby) Names of West Fargo; furry friends, PJ, Jacob, and Boots; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Palm; brother, Wayne Palm; father-in-law, Arthur Names Sr.; grandparents, Hazel and Fritz Palm and John and Mary Matejka; brothers-in-law, John Lubbers and Brian Vanderbeek; and furry friend, Brutus.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation continuing one hour before, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
