Charles J. “Chuck” Pfeifer

Charles J. Pfeifer, 81, of Lake Park, MN, formerly Dilworth, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Charles John “Chuck” Pfeifer was born in Eureka, SD, on December 1, 1938 to John and Verna (Sinkbeil) Pfeifer.  He grew up in Zeeland, ND, and graduated from Zeeland High School in 1956.  He went on to attend Jamestown College where he received his teaching degree in 1960.  Chuck taught in Hazelton, ND, Hancock, ND, and Walhalla, ND, before moving to Dilworth, MN, where he taught and coached from 1967 until his retirement in 1994.  He was an assistant coach for the football team and head coach for the wrestling and track and field teams.  He was later inducted into the Minnesota Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Chuck married Sharon Becker in June of 1961.  They moved to Lake Ida in 1997.  After a battle with cancer, Sharon passed away in May of 2004.

Chuck was passionate about gardening and even ran a small vegetable farm for a time.  He enjoyed canning, quilting, hunting and fishing and keeping up on the Twins, Vikings, NDSU Bison, and of course, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton athletics.  He also enjoyed spending time with his friends in the lakes area.

Chuck is survived by his son, Rane (Susan) Pfeifer and their children, Heike and Hewson; brothers, John (Rita) Pfeifer and Neil Pfeifer and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Dennis and his wife Charlotte.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 4:30-6:30 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
