Charmaine Gloria Jensen

Charmaine Gloria Jensen, 89, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead. Charmaine was born on March 1, 1928, to Oscar and Minnie Underdahl Groslie in Virginia, MN.

Charmaine graduated from Minnesota Public School in Twin Valley in 1946. She worked at different jobs in Twin Valley, and then worked at Herbst Department Store in Fargo until her marriage. She was married to Orlean Jensen of Borup, MN on September 15, 1956.

Orlean and Charmaine lived on a farm near Borup where their 4 children were born, 2 boys and 2 girls. In 1972 they moved to a farm near Ulen, MN. In 1982, the family moved to Twin Valley, where Orlean was employed for 17 years. They retired in 1991 and moved to Detroit Lakes, MN where they managed a 6 building condo complex and were the custodians of Trinity Church for 3 years, until the death of her husband in 2002.

Charmaine was active in her 2 former churches, Jevnaker, rural Borup, and Calvary in Ulen. Charmaine enjoyed travelling with her husband, decorating, dancing, and loved trees and flowers. But most of all, she loved her husband of 45 years, her children and their spouses, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Charmaine is survived by her children, Tamie Jeff Walstrom, Jay Donna Jensen, and Cemone Roger Oberg; grandchildren, Blaine Sarah Walstrom, Calli Joe Valan, Cierra Oberg, and Jason Carolyn Oberg; great-grandchildren, Austin Walstrom, Kaison Walstrom, Harrison Walstrom, Darby Valan, Maddox Oberg, Ada and Isabelle; and a wonderful extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and their families. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orlean; 1 son, Tyrone; parents, Oscar and Minnie; and 1 sister, Fern Ashmore.

Services will take place on Monday, April 10, at 1:00PM, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN with a visitation 1 hour prior to services. A Burial will take place following services at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Ulen, MN.
