Chester B. Martin

Chester was born February 28, 1953, to John and Mildred Corbine Martin in Hayward, WI. A member of the Lac Courte Oreilles tribe, he grew up and attended school in Hayward, graduating in 1970. Later, he went on to graduate from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton with a degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating. On December 29, 1972, he married Lorraine Harris in Wausau, WI. Together they moved to Rochester, MN, for a short time before settling in Hawley, MN, and raising a family. Chester worked at Peavey Lumber, later known as UBC, in Hawley, but had spent the past 17 years working at Eid-Co Homes in Fargo, ND. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, archery, fishing and golfing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.Chester is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children, Melanie Adam Mueller Martin of Mapleton, ND, Courtney Shane Swanson of Georgetown, MN, Anthony Martin of Hawley, MN, Jessie Cody Godel Martin of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Alyson, Lexi, Brock, Skylar, Leah, Kyra, Hayden and Bryce; brothers, Fred of Hayward, WI, Ronald of Milwaukee, WI, Raymond of Hayward, WI; and sister, Deann Martin of Hayward, WI.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and long time best friend, Orlin Pahl.
