Chris P. Myrold

Chris P. Myrold, 76, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in his home under the care of his wife and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Chris Palmer Myrold was born in Crookston, MN on September 9, 1947, to Joseph and Evelyn (Hanson) Myrold. He grew up in Crookston and graduated from Crookston High School in 1965. Chris went on to attend Concordia College where he played football and studied Accounting. 

Chris enlisted in the Army and continued serving in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. He also served the Moorhead Police Department for 10 years and spent many years working around Moorhead High School where he came to be known as “Chris the Cop”. 

In 1982, Chris opened Minnesota Hearing Aid Center which he owned and operated until 2019. He married Lynette Hallman on February 15, 2013, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead. 

Chris enjoyed playing golf and bowled in many leagues at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead. He also loved being at the lake, either keeping busy with the maintenance and yard work, or relaxing with a cup of coffee taking in the beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the lake.

Chris is survived by his wife, Lynette; children, Jennifer (Jim) Restemayer, and their children, Ashley (Cahlor Stedman), and Allison; Katie (Kevin) Friedland, and their children, Meadow and Juniper; and Matthew (Kari Morton) Myrold; Lynette’s children, Amanda (Dan) Loeffelbein, and their children, Olivia, Lilah, and Raelynn; John Hallman, Elizabeth (Brett) Janssen and their children Madelyn, Abigail, Julianne, and Logan; brother, Mark Myrold; and nieces, Maranda, Lainee, Kara and Mandi. He is also survived by Janelle Kunellis and Wendee Myrold. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Susan Myxter.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 4-6 PM with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Visitation will continue Monday, December 4, 2023, from 10-11 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM in Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston, MN.
