Christopher "Chris" R. Jacklovich

Christopher “Chris” R. Jacklovich, 48, of Moorhead, MN passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 8, 2023, after a courageous 5-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.  Chris was born to Michael and Debbie (Novak) Jacklovich in Portsmouth, VA on March 30^th, 1975.  He grew up on the Iron Range in Gilbert, MN until he was in the 6^th grade when his family relocated to Dilworth, MN. Chris graduated from Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School in 1993. He received his Associate degree in Business. He resided in West Fargo, ND and Hendrum, MN before eventually enjoying the last 10 years in Moorhead. He worked in the Concrete profession for many years before switching gears, working at American Crystal Sugar where he retired in 2020.  He loved going 4 wheeling with his family and friends and also walleye fishing out at Lake Sakakawea with his wife’s family.

Chris met his wife Carleen in February of 2010 and married in October of 2019 and, they raised 4 kids between them.  Chris loved his family and friends dearly, and especially enjoyed watching any sporting or other events the kids were involved in. 

Chris is survived by his wife, Carleen (Howe) Jacklovich, Moorhead, MN; children Monalea Clemensen, Minneapolis, MN;  and Colton Jacklovich, Moorhead, MN; step-children Aaron Wical (Madelyn Hurt), Grandin, ND; and Brynn Wical (Derek Boatright), Moorhead, MN; his parents Michael and Debbie (Novak) Jacklovich, Menahga, MN;  brother Tom Jacklovich, Moorhead MN; sisters Jennifer Arnold (Mark) Moorhead, MN; and Melissa Jacklovich, West Fargo, ND; his mother-in law Linda Howe, Velva, ND; brother-in-law Wade (Kristi) Howe, Velva, ND; nieces Jasmine Jacklovich, West Fargo, ND; Erin Arnold, Moorhead, MN; Emma Howe (Kutter Blumhagen), Minot, ND; Faith Howe, Velva, ND; and nephews Anthony Jacklovich, West Fargo, ND; Evan Arnold, Moorhead, MN; and Julian Arnold, Moorhead, MN.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, several aunts and uncles and cousins, and father-in-law Donald Howe.

The family would like to thank Roger Maris Cancer Center, Sanford Hospice and Lend-A Hand Up for all the support we have been provided. For Thursday’s visitation and prayer service, please wear your favorite sports team jersey. Chris loved all sports and teams, especially the Moorhead Spuds, the MN Vikings, and the MN Wild.

Visitation: Thursday, November 16^th from 5-7 P.M., with a prayer service at 7 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.  Celebration of Life: Friday, November 17^th at 2:00 P.M., at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.  Final resting place: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
