Christopher John Thom

Christopher John Thom, age 43, beloved son, father and brother, passed away on May 25, 2022 unexpectedly.

Chris was born on June 8, 1978, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, North Dakota.  He was raised in Langdon until his family moved to Minot in 1983. He attended school in Minot, North Dakota and graduated from high school in 1996. At the time of his death, he was employed by Matt’s Automotive in Moorhead, Minnesota as the service manager.

On February 28, 2009, Christopher became a father when Owen Christopher Thom (Meredith Cianchini) was born.  Owen was Chris’ pride and joy and he loved spending time with him.

Chris loved to cook, spend time with friends, attend Red Hawk baseball games with Owen and enjoyed collecting antiques and sharing his treasures with others. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking with anyone he met.

Chris is survived by his son, Owen Christopher Thom, Moorhead, MN; his father, John Thom, Minot, ND; his sister, Gail Raasakka (Mike Raasakka) and his nieces, Heather Franca (Kyle Ohlhauser), Mackenzie Weyrauch (Nathan) and great nieces and nephews, Stella Franca, Remi Ohlhauser, Cooper Weyrauch, Scarlett and Harrison Raasakka.    He is survived by numerous cousins from the Thom and Leahy family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Thom; his brother, Todd Freeman; his Godson and nephew, Andrew Raasakka and grandparents, Elmo and Clara Thom and Matt and Verda Leahy.
