Clarence Grani Jr.

Clarence M. Grani, Jr., 87, died December 4, 2019 in Minneapolis MN. Clarence, the only child of Clarence and Leona (Bramer) Grani, Sr., was born near Lake Park, MN on August 25, 1932. After attending country school near Lake Park, he served in the U.S. Army.  He married JoAnne Samuelson at Houglum Lutheran Church on November 25, 1955. Junior & JoAnne resided in Lake Park, where they raised their only daughter, Pam.  For most of his career, he was employed with Swift & Company and R&R Trucking.  After JoAnne’s death, he later married and moved to Minneapolis, MN.  Junior was a devoted member of Houglum Lutheran Church. He was a gentle man who treasured time spent with his friends and family.

Junior is survived by his daughter, Pam (Curt) Larson of Hawley, MN; granddaughter, Brooke (Chuck) Ames of Hawley, MN; great-grandsons, Alex (Trista) Ames of Bemidji, MN and Reid and Jack Ames of Hawley, MN; brothers in law, Danny Erickson of Lake Park, MN and Albert (Susan) Samuelson of Aitkin, MN; sister in law, LaVaun (Greg) Sahlberg of West Fargo, ND; four nieces and nephews; and eight great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Grani; parents, Clarence & Leona Grani; mother and father in law, Albert & Gladys Samuelson; and sister in law, Carol Erickson.

The visitation and prayer service will be held at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN, on Thursday, December 12, with a visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM prayer service.
