Clarice G. Leadbetter

Clarice Leadbetter (Kjos), 82, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Clarice was born May 16, 1935, in Lake Park, MN, to Gilbert and Cora (Syverson) Peterson. She attended District 16 country school in Hawley and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1952. Following high school, she worked at Manchester Biscuit Co. in Fargo. On June 2, 1956, Clarice married Vernon Kjos in Hawley, MN. They lived in Anchorage, AK, Minot, ND, and Grand Forks, ND, while Vernon was in the Air Force. They later settled in Moorhead and Vernon passed away in 1989. Over the years, Clarice worked with the V.A. Credit Union, American Bank & Trust, State Bank and Norwest Bank before retiring. On November 25, 2000, Clarice married Marvin Leadbetter. Together they made their home in Moorhead. She enjoyed staying active at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries in Moorhead.

Clarice is survived by her husband, Marvin; sister, Amy Krogh; step-children, Dr. Larry (Mary) Leadbetter, Lee (Tam) Leadbetter, Gerry Leadbetter, Jeff (Edna) Leadbetter, Linda Bayman-Leadbetter; grandchildren, Jennifer Leadbetter, Kirt (Mary) Leadbetter, Alyssa Leadbetter, Lindsey Leadbetter, Jon (Mandi) Leadbetter, Bethany Leadbetter, Lucas Leadbetter, Jacob Leadbetter; great-granddaughter, Isabella; brothers-in-law, Don (Nancy) Leadbetter and Art Leadbetter; sister-in-law, Delores Leadbetter; and nieces, Carol (Del) Valdez, Theresa Softing; and nephews, Lowell (Judy) Hanson, Kenneth (Pat) Hanson, David (Theresa) Hanson, Timothy Kronbeck, Todd Kjos; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Vernon; nephew, Allen (Jean) Hanson; brother-in-law, Ray Leadbetter and sister-in-law, Jean Leadbetter.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 22, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral will be Thursday, March 22, at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
