Clarine Claire Hendrickson

Clarine Claire Hendrickson, 80, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, November 4, 2013, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
Clarine Olinda Grefe was born on September 6, 1933, near Truman, MN, to Theodore and Clara Wessel Grefe. She grew up and attended school there, graduating as Valedictorian of Truman High School. She then attended the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN, where she was once again Valedictorian when she received her R.N.; from there, she went on to the University of Minnesota where she earned her B.S.N. She taught nursing at the University of Minnesota for three years.
Clarine married Gary Hendrickson on December 27, 1969 in Truman, MN, and the couple moved to Warroad, MN.
Claire held various nursing positions in the Roseau County area including serving as Director of Nursing at the Warroad Care Center. She was also a substitute teacher in the Warroad School District. Claire had served as the chair of the Roseau County DFL, on the church council of Zion Lutheran Church, and was active member of WELCA. She also served on the Warroad Housing Authority.
Claire and Gary moved to Moorhead in 1998. In retirement, she volunteered at the Roger Maris Cancer Center. She loved Gopher Hockey, the Vikings, politics, crossword puzzles, and especially her grandchildren. She was willing to embrace technology, even to the point of having a Facebook account.
Claire is survived by her husband, Gary and two sons Chuck Renae Hendrickson and Mark Ginger Hendrickson, all of Moorhead; two brothers Raymond Grefe, Walnut Grove, MN, and William Sharon Grefe, Maple Grove, MN; two sisters Marie Nolting, Burnsville, MN, and Martha Broscheit, Wheatridge, CO; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Jacob, Hannah, Marty, Max, and Gavin.
Memorial Service: Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 1:00 P.M., in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Friends may gather for one hour before the service in the church.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
