Clark N. Christianson

May 27, 1917 — February 27, 2010

Clark was born May 27, 1917, in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Carl and Amanda Narum Christianson. He grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids, Greenbush, Battle Lake and graduated high school from Perham, MN. He entered the Army in 1942, serving with Company E 333rd Engineer Special Service in the European Theater until discharged as a Master Sergeant in 1945. He married his wife of 66 years, Lillian Brown, in Fergus Falls, MN, on September 7, 1943, and they had two children. They lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area where Clark worked as a foreman for John T. Jones Construction Company after a short episode of owning his own carpenter business. He was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church where he faithfully served as an Elder for many, many years. He was also a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, and most importantly the Krigen Lodge of the Sons of Norway where he spent hundreds of volunteer hours and so enjoyed the friends he made there. Free time was spent playing cards, dancing, traveling, reading and especially FISHING. He was a proud participant of the WWII Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He was a gentle spirited man who never wanted to offend anyone, and made friends easily wherever he went. He will be missed dearly by his family, numerous friends and coffee/Bingo buddies. Clark is survived by his wife, Lillian; a daughter, Joyce Mike Richard, Pelican Rapids; a son, Dr. Wayne Liz Christianson, Moorhead; two grandchildren, Matthew Martha Christianson, Memphis, TN, and Katie Al Yablonski, Plymouth, MN; triplet great-grandchildren, Sam, Reid and Cain Christianson; special sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; a brother Edward and sister-in-law Violet, sister-in-law Irene Kubitz; and brothers-in-law Arvid and Robert Brown.Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Court of Eventide who gave him such compassionate, loving care.
