Claudia L. Boelter

Claudia L. Boelter, 80, of Pelican Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 24, 2016, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Claudia Lorraine Peterson was born on April 5, 1936, in Holy Cross Township, MN, to Eugene and Adeline Anderson Peterson. She grew up and attended school in Comstock. On January 20, 1952, Claudia was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Boelter. They made their home in Moorhead, MN, where they raised their five children. God’s gift to Claudia was her hands; the cornerstone of her work and hobbies. Claudia worked in the medical field; spending the last 32 years as a cast technician at Dakota Clinic and MeritCare in Fargo. Her caring, kind ways were very calming to her patients. In 1998, Claudia and Bob retired to Lake Lida and wintered in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. During her retirement, Claudia’s life was devoted to family, friends, and volunteer work.

Claudia’s talented hands created many unique quilts for family, friends, and those in need. She never missed quilting Tuesdays at church. Her other hobbies and talents included playing the organ, accordion, and piano, and gardening. She was also known to swing a hammer, if asked. Most of all, Claudia cherished being “Granny B” to all of her grandchildren and “Mom B” to all of her children’s spouses. Family and friends were of utmost importance to Claudia. For over forty years, everyone looked forward to the annual 4th of July celebration hosted by Claudia and Bob.

Claudia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob, Pelican Rapids, MN; son, Bruce Lois Boelter, Fargo, ND; four daughters, Lynn David Israelson, Wolverton, MN, Mary Dwight Iverson, Hitterdal, MN, Teresa Most, Rice Lake, WI, and Janet Brent McEvers, Hawley, MN; two sisters, Rosie Keith Carr and Genelle “Tootsie” Kilbride; nine grandchildren, Ryan Babb, Lindsay Chris Paulson, Grant Israelson, Melanie Pierce FollansbeeDelong, Jake Most, Matt Boelter, Molly Boelter, Jordan Iverson and Joe Iverson; one great granddaughter-due in October; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gerald Peterson and granddaughter, Laura Iverson.

Memorial Gathering: Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial Service: Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church by Franklin Lake, Pelican Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
