Clayton A. Roen, 79, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Clayton Allan Roen was born on February 9, 1928 to Allan and Gladys Clayton Roen in Fargo, ND. He grew up and attended school in Fargo. He joined the United States Navy at age 17 and during his years in the Navy, served in the Second World War in the Pacific theater. He enjoyed various roles including his longest held position as a Navy Recruiter in Fargo, fitting with his gregarious personality, along with his dedication and strong work ethic. On October 26, 1950 he married Donna Rogers in Crosby, ND. Clayton experienced many joys and many challenges in his life. He left all of his children his best qualities, his outgoing personality, and his dedication to hard work. Clayton always made time to help others. He loved the lakes and fishing.He is survived by his wife, Donna of Moorhead, MN; children, Judy Dan Walsh of Stillwater, MN, Bob Deb of Reno, NV, Kathy Donald Sannes of Fargo, ND, Doug of El Cerrito, CA, Mike of Elk River, MN, and Emily Jane Roen of Moorhead, MN; three sisters, Audrey Hohncke of Little Falls, MN, Betty White of St. Cloud, MN, and Janice Gorthy of Fresno, CA; nine grandchildren, Matthew and Kate Walsh, Mike, Phil and Rachel Roen, Donny and Krissy Sannes, and Kyle and Jack Roen; one great-grandchild, Ezra; and granddog, Tess. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, June Parsons.
