Clifford Lee Steinert

March 1, 1950 — June 6, 2022

Clifford Lee Steinert died peacefully at home Monday June 6th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.  Cliff was born March 1st, 1950, in Morris, Minnesota to Clarence and Irene (Brandvold) Steinert.  He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1969 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served during the Vietnam War.  On October 16, 1971, he married Guadalupe Hernandez in Raymondville, TX.  Together they raised three children Sylvia, Nicholas, and Christina.

Cliff was employed with Steiger Tractor in Fargo for 10 years prior to starting a 17-year career as a custodian for the Moorhead School District. He spent most of his years as the head custodian at Moorhead High School.

Upon retirement, Cliff became a proud grandfather and helped raise his five grandchildren, who he loved more than anything in the world. Cliff instilled many qualities, making sure they were always polite, timely, studious, and driven.  Cliff enjoyed the outdoors, and he could often be found in his fishing boat on a lake in West Central Minnesota.  Cliff and Lupe spent many weekends taking day trips fishing and finding little cafes to enjoy their post fishing lunches.  He enjoyed motorcycle rides around the area, especially ones accompanied by his youngest daughter Christina.  Every summer, Cliff would take his seat behind the wheel of the family car and drive his family down to south Texas to visit his beloved in-laws.

Cliff was a faith-filled man who loved Jesus, he was an active member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.  He served many roles at his church and rarely missed a weekend mass.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed.

Clifford is survived by his wife Guadalupe; his daughter Sylvia (K.C.) Clark, son Nicholas, and daughter Christina; five grandchildren, Carmen, Lyssandra, Nicolaus, Nathan, and Jordyn; sister, Sandra (Harold) Humphrey; Aunt, Shirley Graham; as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Jovita Cruz; sister-in-law, Edie Lopez; brother and sister-in-law, John and Lou Deputy.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., followed by the prayer service at 7:00 P.M., with a rosary to follow, on Friday, June 10, 2022, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the church.
