Colleen Y. Edwards

Colleen was born June 25, 1963 at St. Joseph Hospital in Minot, ND, to Edwin & Carolyn (Babolian) Edwards. She was the 2nd of their 4 children. Colleen passed away at Essentia Health on September 11, 2021 in Fargo, ND, after fighting several medical issues during the last several years. She previously beat 3 different cancers, and was a Strong Willed Woman through all of life’s trials & tribulations.

Colleen graduated from Moorhead Senior High School, Moorhead, MN, in 1982.  She then attended East Grand Forks Technical College 1982-1983.

Shortly thereafter she started a life long career with Doyle’s Yellow Checked Cab Co. in Fargo, ND. She started as a part time driver, and during the next 31 years she worked her way to Head Dispatcher, Bookkeeper and then General Manager. Her medical issues brought her to an early medical retirement.

Her family was most important to her. She was always at their side through happy times of celebrations or injuries & illness. She never questioned why or how, it didn’t matter, she was there! Besides family time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and traveling. In recent years enjoying some of the places she traveled to were Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, New York City, and the view from the top of the Empire State Building.

Colleen is survived by her mother, Carolyn, Moorhead, MN; sister, Eileen L. Kilian, West Fargo, ND; brothers, Michael (Donna), Sioux Falls, SD and Ernest, Edina, MN; niece Rachael and nephew, Matthew, both Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her grand parents and father, Edwin.

Honorary Pallbearers are her Niece Rachael & Nephew Matthew.

Upon Colleen’s request a small graveside service will be held. Internment is taking place at the family church, Concordia Lutheran Church Glyndon, MN.
