Cora H. Stenberg

Cora H. Stenberg, 90, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Farmstead Care, Moorhead, MN.

Cora Helen Stenberg was born December 30, 1931, in Bismarck, ND, to Aileen (Magee) and Lester White. She grew up in rural Tappen, ND, at the family Homestead. She graduated from Steele, ND, in 1949. On May 7, 1952, she took the train to Fort Worth, Texas to marry Marvin L. Stenberg. They resided on Carswell Air Force base after their wedding. After years of Air Force base living, Marvin retired and they moved to Moorhead, MN. Marvin and Cora celebrated 70 marvelous years this past May.

Cora made the most incredible meals even on weeknights. Her holiday dinners were always epic and included her delicious baked goods like scotcheroos, carmel rolls and dinner buns that were a family favorite. Many friends and families are fortunate enough to have a piece of hardanger, a quilt or a sewing project that she made. She often had her hardanger work displayed at the Hjemkomst Center during the Scandinavian festival. Their house was full of many treasures that she created herself. Outside she attended to the most beautiful flowers around the house.

Cora’s main duties were her family. She also worked part time as an Administrative Assistant with various companies. She spent many hours of volunteering at Trinity Church and Lost and Found ministry.

Cora leaves behind her husband, Marvin; their five children, Corinne (Paul) Triviski, Marjorie Rendell, Michael (Barbara), Greg and Jennifer (Joe) Beck; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Cora’s funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 9 at 11:00 am with visitation an hour prior at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Burial to follow at Fargo National Cemetery.
