Corrin G. "Ole" Olson, 89, Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, March 20, 2009, in MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.Corrin was born on February 10, 1920, in Elbow Lake, MN, to Oscar and Nancy Peterson Olson, he grew up and attended school there, graduating from Elbow Lake High School in 1938. He served in the U.S. Army from May of 1942 until December of 1945, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of WWII. He worked for Railway Express in Fargo for two years. On November 25, 1950, he married Myrtle Magnuson in St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. He worked for Great Lakes Pipeline in Fargo for thirteen years and then worked for Johnson Oil Company in Fargo for 23 years, retiring in 1987. He liked fishing and duck hunting. In retirement he and Myrtle enjoyed travelling and meeting new friends, spending their winters in Arizona. He loved his church, St. Mark's, where he was an active member; and his home, which he carefully tended. He was a member of the Eagles, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. A highlight of his life was going on the 2007 WDAY Honor Flight accompanied by his son-in-law, Jim Olson. Corrin's family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. John Leitch, MeritCare's seventh floor Oncology, and MeritCare's Palliative Care.He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, two daughters, Judy Jim Olson, Moorhead, MN, and Candace Steven Mathiowetz formerly Richards; three grandchildren, Kelly Richards, Anne Olson, and Steven Olson; three sisters, Kathleen Woessner, Elbow Lake, MN, Joan Anderson, Fargo, ND, and Val Jean Michalwicz, Huntington Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
