Corrine Patty Bennett entered her eternal reward on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Corrine, the daughter of Roy & Ruth (Krause) Kohl, was born on September 4, 1946 in Sisseton, SD and was the third child born to this union.
Corrine was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Rural Claire City and graduated from New Effington High School in May of 1963.
On March 15, 1965 she married Joe Bennett in Winterhaven, California. Together they managed numerous apartments, a mobile home park, and owned a hotel which took them from California, to Las Vegas, and home to Moorhead, Minnesota.
Corrine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, volunteered for numerous organizations and will forever be known as the Mrs. Clause to “Santa Joe.”
Corrine is survived by her children Susan Jo (Chad) Braun, Rosholt, SD, and Timothy Joe (Jill) Bennett, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Chase Joseph Shypkowski (Elissa), Moorhead, MN, Derian Skyler Bennett, Moorhead, MN, Tyler Allen Braun, Rosholt, SD, Phoenix Joseph Wayne Bennett, Moorhead, MN, Kyle Chad Braun, Rosholt, SD, and Kody Alex Braun, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law Ruth Bunkowske, Fargo, ND and Shirley Orthun, Mesa, AZ.
She was preceded in death by husband Joe Bennett; parents Roy and Ruth Kohl, in-laws Grant and Margaret Bennett; sisters-in-law Sister Dorothy Bennett, Betty Snider, Ruth Bennett, Iva Bennet, Irene Bennett, Sophie Bennett, Geneva Bennett; brothers-in-law Bob Bennett, Harold Bennett, Virgil Bennett, Clinton Snider, Clarence Hoffman, Paul Bunkowske, and Phil Orthun.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 9:00 AM with a visitation beginning at 8:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Cory’s page at the time of the service.
Burial will be in Fargo National Cemetery immediately following the service.
