Cory Brandt

Cory Brandt, 38, of Sabin, MN, died January 14, 2020, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Cory Lee Brandt was born May 30, 1981 in Moorhead, MN, to Tammy Alfstad.  He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1999.  Cory was a natural-born salesman and worked in sales at various businesses in the Fargo-Moorhead area.  His life was blessed by the birth of his daughter, Haylee. Cory loved Haylee deeply and she meant the world to him. Cory had a strong and persistent faith, a knowledge of and love for the Bible, and a passion for sharing his faith with others. He enjoyed listening to 80’s rock and rap music.

Cory had a lifelong battle with addiction and fought it long and hard until the end of his life.  Cory would want people to know that it is O.K. to struggle and to ask for help.

Cory is survived by his mother and step-father, Tammy Brandt Alfstad and Jerry Alfstad, of Sabin, MN; his daughter, Haylee; his sister, Emma Brandt (Shawn Arntson), of Moorhead, his childhood best friend, Josh Dahlstrom, and many other friends and relatives.  He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Craig and his grandparents, Fern and Herb Brandt.

Cory’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

The funeral service will be Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN. Interment will be later at Elmwood Cemetery in Sabin.
