Craig Krabbenhoft, age 64, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley after a short battle with cancer.
Craig William Krabbenhoft was born on February 14, 1956 in Moorhead, MN, to Robert and Rosella (Hoppe) Krabbenhoft. Craig graduated from Moorhead High School in 1974 and furthered his education at the Moorhead Technical College, studying mechanics. Following his college graduation, Craig worked for various companies over the years including Selland Pontiac, Airial Contractors, and Red River Commodities. Craig married the love of his life, Karen Kirkhorn, on September 7, 1985 in Comstock, MN. Together they had one daughter, Kayla. Craig finally found his passion at The Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley where he worked in maintenance and was a bus driver for over 10 years.
Craig was a kind and gentle man who always looked for the best in everyone and rarely complained. Although he had very few words to say, he made sure his family knew they were loved and gave the best hugs. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially being “Papa” to his two grandsons. Craig was an excellent cook and liked John Deere and farming. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Craig is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen; daughter, Kayla (Evan) Russ; grandsons, Justin and Jonathan Russ; brothers, Curt (Mardel) Krabbenhoft and Carter (Janette VanHolsbeke) Krabbenhoft; godson, Aaron Krabbenhoft; and many nieces and nephews. Craig was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Carlson; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Krabbenhoft.
