Dale Bergman

Dale Harley Bergman, age 82, passed away surrounded by family on December 18, 2024, at Lilac Homes in Moorhead, MN after a long battle with dementia. He is so blessed to get to spend Christmas in Heaven!

Dale was born to Harley & Pearl Bergman on March 15, 1942. He lived & worked on the family farm near Verdi, MN. Dale & Leanne were married in Grand Forks, ND where he started his occupation as a plant operator. They then moved to Beulah, ND and lived there for 26 years, where he worked at Dakota Gasification Company. In 2007, Dale & Leanne moved to Dilworth, MN to be closer to their daughters, Amanda & Gina.

Dale loved to go camping, watching car races at the track or on TV, snowmobiling in the Black Hills, WWE, being a “Boppa” to his grandkids, woodworking, fishing, watching “Christmas Vacation” and aspiring to be the next Clark Griswold with his Christmas lights.

His four year battle with dementia was filled with enjoying the small things in life: drinking multiple frappuccinos, going to grandkids’ baseball games, releasing butterflies (they were probably all named Pearl after his mom), car rides near & far, sitting in the sun, watching the Eagle Cam, and snuggling with his cat Midnight. One of our most treasured memories will be our last family trip to Duluth in 2022 where we watched the ships, rode on the train, and got in trouble for feeding the seagulls!

He is survived by “The Village”, our close knit family: wife Leanne; daughters, Amanda (Eric) Olson & Gina (Travis) Mastin, and grandchildren Ian, Isaac, Ingrid, Turner, & Greta. He is also survived by children from a previous marriage: Susan (Brian) Montieth, Dale Bergman Jr., & Brendy Bergman, along with several other grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Per Dale’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. “The Village” will be having a private celebration of life at a later date.
