Dale "Red" Hanson, 71, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, February 4, 2007, in the Good Samaritan Home, Barnesville, MN, surrounded by his five daughters, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Dale Hanson was born on May 29, 1935 to Julian and Clara Fredrickson Hanson. He grew up in Minnesota, graduating from Dilworth High School in 1953. Shortly after graduation, Dale enlisted in the United States Army, serving until October 31, 1961 when he was honorably discharged. Dale was married to Sharon Gratton in 1961, together they had five girls. He retired after 20 years of service with Burlington Northern. . Dale also worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed life to its fullest. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He is survived by five daughters, Michelle, Tracy, Teresa and Monique Hanson, all of Tacoma WA, and Tamara Robert LaFountain of Mattawan, MI; one brother, Garon Anne Hanson of Moorhead, MN; five sisters, Elaine Welle of Bismarck, ND, Donna George Huesmann of Princeton, MN, January Hanson of Moorhead, MN, Glennys Stach of Puyallup, WA, and Pat Mjoness of Sabin, MN; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Ken Murack of Las Vegas, NV.He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers-in-law, Gene Welle, John Hanson, Don Mjoness; and one nephew, Steve Hanson.
