Daniel John Evert, 53, Sabin, MN, passed away in his home Monday, January 25, 1999, after a long battle with cancer.
Daniel was born to Dan and Ruth Evert on October 7, 1945 in Fargo, ND. He was a lifetime resident of Sabin, MN. Daniel attended school in Sabin and graduated from Moorhead High in 1963, then graduated from Hanson’s Mechanical School. He married Wanda Nelson in June 1964. to this union his two sons were born, Bruce and Richard. Daniel worked as a pipe coverer and farmed until his retirement in 1997. Daniel married his best friend Bernice Beto on January 2, 1999.
Daniel was involved in many organizations to which he was very dedicated. Daniel was a member of the Sabin Lutheran Church, Sabin Fire Dept., and Fire Dept. Relief Assn., past member of Sabin City Council, Sabin Rod and Gun, Elmwood Cemetery Board, Charter member of Sabin Lions and 1997 recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, past member and board member of Moorhead Cenex, board member of Northern Cooperatives of Wadena, and president of Asbestos Workers Local #133 of Fargo.
Daniel was very proud of his community. He donated timeless hours soliciting donations for numerous civic projects such as the building of the Sabin Community Center. He worked diligently on street and waterworks projects.
Daniel was always there when needed, for his friends and family, even through his battle with cancer. His love of family and friends was obvious every day of his life. Daniel died on Monday, January 25, 1999, at the age of 53.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Dan.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; sons, Bruce (Katie) Evert, Grand Rapids, MN and Richard Every, Sabin, MN; stepsons, Scott (Kristine) Beto, Minnesota Lake, MN, Kevin Beto, Moorhead, and Brian Beto, Sabin; his mother, Ruth Evert, Sabin; sister, Mary (Miles) Wiegand and nephew, Matthew, Moose Lake, MN and Kathleen (Randal) Sams and niece Katrina, Garland, TX; grandchildren, Victoria Evert, Johnathon Eschenbrenner, Daniel, Kayla and Travis Evert, and stepgrandchildren, Samantha and Stephanie Beto.
