Dantonie D. Blount, 32, of Fargo, ND, died October 6, 2017, at the Fargo VA Hospital.
Dantonie Durrell Blount was born September 24, 1985, in Washington, NC, to Donald and Mayola (Shelton) Blount. He graduated from Mattamuskeet High School and then entered the National Guard where he served as a power generation equipment repairer. He had one deployment to Iraq and was discharged from active duty in July 2006. In 2007 he moved to Junction City, KS where he did concrete work. In 2009, he moved to Fargo, where he was most recently employed as a sales manager at Aaron’s.
Dantonie loved watching college basketball and NFL football, and his favorite teams were the UNC Tar Heels and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed playing video games with his friends. He was a very social person and always enjoyed being around people.
Dantonie is survived by his parents, Donald Blount and Mayola Shelton Blount; three children, Elijah Gibbs, Michael Blount and Maiya Archer; paternal grandmother, Hersel Gibbs; brothers, Romaine “Scoot” Blount and Donald “DJ” Blount Jr.; sisters, Yolanda Murray and Adrian “Cookie” Melton, and fiancé, Hannah Brown. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nancy and Claudius Shelton and paternal grandfather, James Blount.
Private family services will be held.
