David A. Larson, 84, Lake Park, MN, died on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Essentia Health Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN.
David Allen Larson was born on April 30, 1929 in Lake Park, MN to George and Agnes Bartleson Larson. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1947.
He married Mary Ann Theis on April 24, 1954 and they made their home in Lake Park. He enlisted in the Army and, after serving in the Korean War, he was honorably discharged in 1955.
David was employed by State Bank of Lake Park, working his way up through the banking industry and eventually retiring as bank president after 50 years.
He enjoyed many hobbies including antiquing and attending auction sales, wood working, camping, reading and traveling. He enjoyed spending his winters in Texas for the past 18 years. David especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time at the lake with family.
David was an active member of several organizations including the Lake Park Legion, Minnesota Bankers Association and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
David is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, sons Daniel Margie Larson, Lake Park, MN, Douglas Judy Larson, Lake Park, MN, Steven Sherri Larson, Pelican Rapids, MN, daughter, Patricia Jeff Richtsmeir, Garfield, MN, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, brother Roger Roberta Larson, Longville, MN and sisters Marjorie Dahring and Phyllis Nelson, both of Detroit Lakes, MN.
Visitation: Monday, August 26, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Park, MN.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Lake Park, MN.
Interment: Lake Park Cemetery
