David L. Bjorkman

David L. Bjorkman, 42, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

David Leroy Bjorkman “Zippy” was born on May 14, 1970 in Marshfield, WI to Ken Bjorkman and Mardi Overland. He grew up in Marshfield, WI and Moorhead, MN. David enjoyed traveling and adventuring around the United States before making his home in Fargo-Moorhead. On August 20, 2004, he married Mari Brule in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. They have three children, Ella 5 ½, Anna 3 and Ethan 2.

The most important thing to David was his family! His pride and joy was “Ella Bella” Ella, Anna Banana and “Little Buddy” Ethan. He created a family with the most amazing wife, Mari. He cherished his relationships with his mother, “Grandma Mardi”, father Ken, brothers, “Bri” and “Eric” and “Sis” Anne. David was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Bringing his family to the lake or really anywhere was his passion. He especially enjoyed professional walleye fishing. Most importantly, David was a family man who adored his children and spending time with his family.

David was a prominent, successful business owner who added to his community with his small, local business, Beds by Design. He opened Beds by Design in 2005 and later expanded the business to Sioux Falls, SD in 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Mari and their three children, Ella, Anna and Ethan, of Moorhead; his father, Ken Bjorkman, Marshfield, WI; mother, Mardi Ronn Overland, Moorhead; two brothers, Brian Leah Bjorkman, Fargo and Eric Bjorkman, Fargo; sister, Anne Dean Simon, Moorhead; mother-in-law, Jennifer Brian Martin and their daughters, Anja and Kaija Martin, Fargo; father-in-law, Marlin Stacy Brule and their children, Madison and Jacob, Jordan, MN; sister-in-law, Angel Rick Normandin, Bagley, MN; brother-in-law, Domnique Carrie Brule, Tucson, AZ; nieces and nephews, Jared and Joey Bjorkman, Carter Simon, Jenna, Izack and Rachelle Normandin; aunt, Pat John Miller, St. Paul, MN; uncles, Jeff Shelly Bjorkman, Gurney, IL and Keith Karen Larsen, Rochester, MN and his beloved dog, Bernard.

David is now holding his baby nephew, Conner Simon, in his arms in Heaven. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille and Leroy “Bones” Larsen and Lorraine and Kenneth Bjorkman; nephew, Conner Simon; aunts and uncles, Detta Nelson, Joyce and Duane Barkus, Bill Bjorkman and Ken Larsen; and his beloved dog, Jake.

Visitation: Friday, January 4, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral Service: Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
