David Lewis Larson, 61, of Moorhead, MN died at his home Monday, March 7 surrounded by his family.David was born October 24, 1949 in Crookston, MN to Lewis and Hazel Larson. He grew up and graduated from Crookston High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Midway. On June 14, 1969 Dave married his high school sweetheart, Kristi Lou Berg. They raised two children, Wendy and Seth. Dave attended Crookston Technical College and then MSU in Moorhead graduating with a degree in small business management.Many people will remember Dave when he owned and managed the last true ma and pa neighborhood convenience store in Fargo/Moorhead called Dave's Market. He loved spending his days in lively conversations with his customers.He went on to work as a custodian at the field house at Concordia College and for the past seven years has been working at the VA Hospital in the purchasing department for prosthetics.Besides being a hard working man he enjoyed spending his time with his wife and kids and being outdoors. He loved riding his bike to work, fishing and camping in the Boundary Waters. Many local restaurants remember Dave and Kristi as weekly, regular customers.He is survived by his wife, Kristi; his daughter Wendy Clint Winkelman of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and his son, Seth Adriana Larson of Moorhead, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Hazel Larson.
