David J. Lamb

David J. Lamb, 71, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND. David was born in Fargo, ND, on February 19, 1952, to Floyd and JoAnn (Griffin) Lamb. He grew up and attended elementary school in Glyndon, MN, and later moved to Dilworth, where he graduated from high school. Following high school, David attended MSUM where he continued his education and played football. David began his career with the City of Moorhead where he enjoyed over 40 years until retirement. On May 29, 1987, David married Lindell Hanson. Together they made their home in Dilworth. Over the years, David took pride in serving the community as a volunteer fireman in Dilworth, where he also served as fire chief for two terms. For many years, David could be found bartending on Friday nights at Mills Lounge in Dilworth. He enjoyed the social aspect of connecting with the community. He could also be in many pictures serving as Santa Clause during the holiday season. Most of all, however, he loved spending time with his family, fishing, playing cards and grilling out. He will be dearly missed.

David is survived by his wife, Lindell; son, Michael Lamb; step-son, Ian (Domnika) Hanson; grandchildren, Maddie, Keenan and Emelian Hanson, Piper and Fletcher O’Dell; brother, LeRoy (Jean) Lamb; sisters, Linda (Gene) Becker, Lois (Louie) Rascon; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and JoAnn Lamb; in-laws, Charlotte Colby and Louis Bernier; and his step-daughter, Erica Hanson-O’Dell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Memorial Service will be Tuesday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Glyndon, at a later date.
