Dawn Marie Shaw, 61, Hawley, MN, died on Thursday, March13, 2014, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Hawley, MN.
Dawn Marie Halvorson was born on October 11, 1952, in Fargo, ND, to Lloyd H. and Gudrun S. Folden Halvorson. She grew up and attended school in Hitterdal, MN. She married David E. Busby on October 18, 1969, and they lived in the Hitterdal area and had two children, Angie and Mike. They later divorced and she moved to Hawley where she had another son, J.J. Legler.
On November 5, 1998, Dawn married Gene Shaw and they made their home in Hawley.
She loved gardening, cooking, and being outside.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Gene, Hawley, MN; son Mike D. Lana Aho Busby, Fargo, ND; daughter Angie Busby, Hawley, MN; grandchildren, Samantha and Joshua Busby; brothers Lloyd “Sonny” Halvorson, Hawley, MN, DuWayne Sheryl Halvorson, Hitterdal, MN, and Ronnie Halvorson, Hitterdal, MN; sister Sharon Peterson, Hitterdal, MN; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son John “J.J.” Legler; two sisters, Betty and Mary; and two brothers Donald and Bobby.
