Dean A. Oliver

Dean A. Oliver, 85, Hawley, MN, died on Friday, September 27, 2013, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Dean was born on November 7, 1927, near Long Prairie in Todd County, Minnesota, to Art and Ella Hale Oliver. He grew up and attended school in the Todd County area.

He moved to Hawley, MN, and worked for Magnus Wefald on his farm. Dean married Delores Ahlbom on May 2, 1947, in Hawley, MN. They lived in Sabin, MN, and West Fargo, ND, before returning to Hawley. He started his career in the gravel business there, and eventually also became a livestock dealer, retiring around 1990.

Dean loved hunting, fishing, horses and reading. He was one of the original members of the Golden Riders.
Dean is survived by his wife, Delores, Hawley, MN; two sons Charles and Keith Oliver, Hawley, MN; three daughters, Nancy Eastman, Doris Oliver, and Sharon David Bakken, all of Hawley, MN; one brother, Robert Linda Oliver, Arlington, TX; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.
Interment: Oak Mound Cemetery, Kragnes, MN, at a later date.
