Deb Nelson, age 53, of Lake Park, MN, died Friday, May 27, 2011, in her home.Deborah Lea Olson was born on August 3, 1957 to Lyle and Lyla Maier Olson in Fargo, ND. She grew up and attended school in Lake Park and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1975. On July 31, 1976 she married Mark Nelson in Lake Park where they made their home. Together, Deb and Mark had two sons, Travis and Tyler. Mark died on January 4, 2007. Deb worked at Lake Park & Cuba, R & R Transportation, and Cenex.Deb was the kind of mom who put her sons first. She was always proud and supportive of whatever decision her boys made and was never shy about expressing her thoughts. Deb was known best for being a giving, fun-loving person who loved to laugh and always put other people's need before her own. She cherished her time and bond with her "shared" grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She had a natural way of making people feel special. She always made sure all family and friends knew about every event and was known as the family photographer. In her free time Deb loved to read, play on the computer, play dice, and spend time at Turtle Lake. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Travis fiance, Tiffany Lund Nelson of Billings, MT and Tyler Nelson of Grand Forks, ND; three brothers, Scott Olson of Lake Park, MN, Todd Karen Olson of San Diego, CA and Troy Carmen Olson of Hawley, MN; one sister, Kathy David Mattson of Lake Park, MN; several special nieces and nephews; very special friend, Curt Aarsvold of Lake Park, MN, and her beloved dog, Scooby.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
