Debra M. Whiteshield

Debra Mae Whiteshield, 60, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Stockton, CA, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at home, surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.  She was born January 28, 1958 in Rosebud, SD.

Debra was a free spirit who lived life on her own terms.  She was a strong woman with a huge heart.  She had a confidence that was unshakable and if you didn’t like it she didn’t care.  To love her was to dislike her at times but that’s just how most of her relationships worked.  Daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend or foe, she touched us all.  She will be greatly missed, especially by her 5 grandchildren whom she helped raise and loved so dearly.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Brandi Cyrus, Stockton, CA, Amber Cyrus, Stockton, CA, Jennifer Cyrus, Stockton, CA and Tae Whiteshield, Stockton, CA; her brother Thomas (Tommie) Carpenter, Pampa, TX; her sisters, Kandi Soliz, Pampa, TX, Angie Carpenter, Ukon, OK, Billie Rodriguez, Pampa, TX, and Mary Casanova, Oklahoma City, OK; her grandchildren, Amado, Elyjah, Raymond, Keimarah, and Eliannah; and her beloved chihuahua, Sammy. Debra was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Whiteshield Carpenter.
