Delano Wang

Delano Jerome Wang, age 79, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Sanford hospital, Fargo, ND.
Delano Jerome Wang was born September 17, 1935 in Hagen Township, northwest of Ulen, MN, the son of Peder and Bernice Fevig Wang. He grew up on the family farm. He attended elementary school at Hagen Country School – Sunnyside #120 – and high school in Ulen.
He served in the Army from December 14, 1954 – November 21, 1956 then again from November 1959 – November 1962.
He has worked at the Ulen Creamery, Ulen Elevator, Abbott Arne & Schwindt, Crystal Sugar, the Willie Mattson farm, the Don Eklund farm, Georgia Pacific and NDSU. He retired in 1997 from full time employment, but continued to work part-time as a security guard. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and built several pieces of furniture including desks, cradles and several rocking chairs for his grand-children, all of which were created without the use of a pattern. He has lived in Clay County all his life.
Delano married Virginia Hatlen in 1958, they made their home in Ulen. Delano married Rita Arlene Plum in 1975. They started their married life in Glyndon, MN, later moving to Moorhead, MN, where they are currently residing.
Delano is survived by his wife Arlene, Moorhead, MN, five daughters; Susan John Klevgaard, Felton, MN; Sandra Ross Perrin Wyland, Fargo, ND; Sheila Dean Bentley, Twin Valley, MN; Sally Dan Christenson, Dent, MN; Tara Austin DeCock, Moorhead, MN; and three sons, Scott Kelly Hett Wang, Dilworth, MN; Steve Wanda Wang, Ulen, MN, and Peder Wang, Moorhead, MN. One brother, Orlynn Patty Wang, Ulen, MN, and one sister, Lorraine Malloy, Arizona, 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Kathleen, two brothers, Parnell and Eldon, and one great-granddaughter, Maddy Lynn Haverkamp.
