Delores “Dee” Svare

Delores “Dee” Marie Svare, 70, of Ulen, MN, died Friday, June 1, 2018, at Vibra Hospital in Fargo.

Dee was born January 30, 1948, in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Calmer Svare and Emma Pederson.  She grew up in rural Pelican Rapids, attended K-6^th grade in Cormorant, 7^th-12^th grade in Audubon and graduated with the class of 1966 from Audubon.  She worked for Silverline, Sun Rising Sales and was part owner of Gene’s Auto Sales.

Dee had a great love for life.  Even though she was paralyzed for 31 years, it never stopped her from doing the things she loved.  Dee was always there if anyone needed someone to listen to or to get advice from.  She also loved to help in any way she could.  She enjoyed when her grandchildren would come and spend the night at her house.  Dee had a smile that was so contagious and would light up the world.  She was also grateful to have wonderful nurses take care of her after her family could no longer do so at home.

Dee enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandkids.  She loved watching her T.V. shows, crossword puzzles, listening to polka on Sunday’s after church services, watching people cook and clean, shopping (even off of T.V.) and collecting watches and pens.

She is survived by her daughter, Necole (Mason) Dodds, Ulen; step-son, Eric Erickson, Ulen; grandchildren, Tate Moses and Skyra Erickson; brother, Kenneth (Marlys) Svare, Audubon; sisters, Mayves Svare, Moorhead, and Elaine Black, Phoenix, AZ; her beloved dog, Tinkers, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, 2 grandchildren, 1 brother-in-law, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and her significant other of 35 years, Gene Erickson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful home health care nurses that took  care of Dee.
